Recently, the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS) has put together a website that explores casual homophobic language (words like “faggot” or “gay”) used on Twitter. By looking at specific words that people use on this Social Networking Site we are able to get a sense of how these types of words are used on a daily basis in our culture. More importantly, this website reveals that over the past couple of years there has been a decline in the use of these types of words on Twitter!
