About Me

I am excited you stopped by to learn more about me! I am a Research Fellow in the Department of Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin working in the Pennebaker Language Lab. I also run my own  Computers, Language, Individuals, & Modern Behavior Research Group.

People often ask me how someone with an accounting degree ended up studying words. It is not that different. Instead of tracking money to learn more about how people think and act I study language patterns. I am especially curious about the language people use to tell stories about their life and what that may reveal about their psychological states and relationships with  others.

When I am not researching I enjoy spending time with my husband, son, and Jade (our dog). Often, you can find us at the park or eating ice cream.

Please feel free to get in touch if you want to talk words!
