Texas Bluebonnets

The sight of Texas bluebonnets sweeping over the soft hill country at sunset is something most would agree is breathtaking. Ever wonder why humans have such a fascination with flowers? Turns out, as a species we may be naturally drawn to bright flowers because they unconsciously send signals about survival. That is, thousands of years ago, as we roamed the land looking for food these bright colors sprinkled on flowers let us know which plants were soon to be available to eat. Not only that but these colors helped us to know which ones may be safer to eat than others. Here is a more in-depth look why we may be naturally drawn to flowers.

For me, the sprawling bluebonnets means warm sunny days and cool evenings, a thing most here in Texas look forward to before the long hot summer.
