This semester my RA’s and I are reading Aroused, by Dr. Randi Hutter Epstein. The book is one that takes the reader on a historical journey into the world of hormone research. Not only does it have cool stories and facts, such as the one about Charles Byrne the circus giant, but highlights the changing tide in the way we think and use hormone therapy to treat a variety of medical aliments. We are only half way through the book, but have gotten a good sense of the role hormones play in the way we think, feel, and perhaps behave. Be on the lookout, I’ll post again on what we think of the remainder of the book!
