First, what is sexting? According to wikipedia it is, “sending, receiving, or forwarding sexually explicit messages, photographs, or images, primarily between mobile phones, of oneself to others.” 

Now, why do people sext? One might assume it is only about gratifying sexual pleasure, but it turns out a new study has revealed people sext for a few reasons. Some sext to engage in foreplay, to help drive the anticipation for sexual encounters later one. Others sext to help maintain their relationship. And, some sext as a way to trade non-sexual favors with their romantic partner (e.g., going out to dinner).
