Covid-19, “The Great Reflection”

It has been awhile since I last posted a blog. Mainly, the Covid-19 pandemic happened, and like many of you I’ve found myself pulled in many directions.

In fact, when the pandemic first unfolded, I found myself pulled onto a team of social scientists contemplating how we could help people cope with their pandemic experience. I helped to contribute to an expressive project that offers people a place to write about their experience. A long line of research has shown that writing about an uncertain and stressful time has been shown to have provide psychological and physical benefits to people. In fact, over the last few months I’ve found quiet times in the morning to write about the experience and felt better for it. Someone, and I can’t remember who, coined this event/time in our lives as the “Great Reflection” and I find myself thinking about this more as I try to put into words what the experience means to me.

If you’re reading this I hope you are safe and healthy.
